so we begin this summer with Burroughs, bunch of short stories, one of my favorite probably being "The Lemon Kid" mainly for the passage:
"His first literary exercise was called The Autobiography of a Wolf. People laughed and said: "You mean the biography of a wolf." No he meant the auto biography of a wolf and here is the autobiographical wolf and his wolf mate Jerry the red-haired wolf in a cool limestone cave licking the sheep blood off each other they are covered with it from head to foot it's been a great night with the sheep and they laugh at those stupid ranchers and often carried poisoned meat for miles in their jaws and flip it into ranch yards to kill the yapping yellow-toothed wolfhounds. As the sun rises they huddle against each other and fall asleep with contented belches."
Burrough's just has a way with completely destroying all ideas of cohesiveness and narration, yet every page is chocked full of subversive allusions to why whitey sucks. awesome. I especially like this copy cause i stole it from my first alma mater's library, r-dubs.
I have a bunch of other books en route from half.com by the words of such genius bros as jahshua and scotty the body including:
     
there's just something about those penguin publishing covers that slay me everytime, genius. any other suggestions, i do most of my reading mid pond in an old wooden canoe.

so for over a year, ever since ryonjames.com was launched, then forgotten about, then launched again, i have made promises and prayers for a blog, not that livejournal is dead to me, just me using livejournal is dead to me. and well, the days has come, your thirst for the verse will be quenched as i have just launched:
its going to be a weekly event more than likely, dealing with such issues as: post 9/11 political hot topics, patriarchal control, the destruction of our working class and neo-classism, and many more things. probably none of those though. just go read it if you like bullshit on sunday mornings, more than likely afternoons though i suppose. anyways, if you guys have blogs too, do tell, gives me something to do after i monitor my rss feeds. lurvly.

i've been painting with the watercolors lately, this is jimbajohn and pullabopper...i've also been listening to antony and the johnsons alot which is amazingly beautiful...i wish i could croon to my (wo)man like him...totally awesome.

i'm kinda giving up on IMing...not completely, you'll find me there from time to time, i can't sever it completely yet, but i'm not going to be bothering with it too often from now on...to everyone that may not be able to reach me otherwise E-MAIL ME!! i'm in vermo for a bit...starting school next week...if i've promised you a print or some other thing and i havn't delivered i'm sorry, it will be arriving soon...i spent much less time in boston this break than expected. i'm enjoying vermont a great deal especially with alissa here with me. we ate burritos today and ripped out a cd player. we also went to try and visit this: www.cartoonstudies.org but it is not complete in its renovations but it is 4 miles from my house! C. WARE and ART SPEIGELMAN are 2 minutes away from me!!! so amazing!
